Day 12 Jan 16: Huatulco, Mexico

See all our photos from Huatulco.

Once a haven for pirates and weary sailors traveling from the Far East, today Huatulco (pronounced wah-tool-co) is located on the Pacific Coast in the Mexican state of Oaxaca. It’s has 22 miles of jagged coastline, pristine beaches and spectacular crystal-clear waters.

Today we charted a private boat chartered to visit 5 spectacular as we cruise along the coastline of Huatulco to explore its beautiful beaches with this private boat trip. Swim and snorkel in the clear blue waters. We invited our new friends Manuel, Elizabeth, Tony, & Hotencia to join us.

As we sailed past the Coral Princess, we had to wear our life jackets as we left the harbor due to local law.

Soon we were out in open water and sailing between the beautiful bays. We stopped and did a bit of swimming

We sailed past a cool lighthouse on the way to a beach with restaurants for lunch.

After a beautiful lunch, we headed back to the port and our ship for the next adventure.
