Today we rented a Toyota Camaray Hybrid for an another Shaka Tour around the Western Coastline of Maui.
We started our tour with our timed entrance to IO Valley, close to the Port. This is a scared valley to the Hawaiians.
We then started our drive around the Western Circle. Just past Lahaina, we stopped to see some ancient petroglyphs carved into the rocks.
Then we just drove the coastline stopping here and there for some pictures. The north side is a very scary road, much of it one car wide with no side rails and shoulders, so when another car comes along, one person has to find a place to pull over, often requiring them the back up a ways.
After we completed the circle, we drove to the famous Mama’s Fish House but were unable to even find parking so we went back towards the port and ate at a small Peruvian restaurant in a small village before returning to the ship.
