Day 76 Mar 22 Singapore

Day 76 Mar 22 Singapore

Please see all of our photos from Singapore.

Singapore required us to undergo formal immigration and customs procedures so we were asked to disembark in groups. We left the ship around 1030am and after about 30 minutes of walking and getting scanned, photographed, and fingerprinted, we arrived at the taxi stand and were on our way. The first stop was the Singapore Botanical Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The gem is the National Orchard Gardens with 1000s of different types of orchids.

Our next stop was near China Town and a food court that is called a Hawker Centre. We ended up just getting something to drink as it was so hot and we still were not that hungry. This is a shot from the outside.

We then walked to China Town, which was really only a couple of streets with some restaurants, most closed in the early afternoon and a few temples.

We decided to return to the ship to cool off and change clothes before returning to town and visiting the Marina Bay Sands Hotel for dinner at Wolfgang Puck’s Spago Bar and Lounge on the 57 floor. The hotel was very impressive, similar to the upscale hotels in Las Vegas with the high end shopping etc.

The views from the 57th floor were impressive.

The Gardens in Bay below has a light show each night.

Here is a short Video

Sail-Away at 11pm gave us one final view of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel from the bay as we departed.
