See all of our photos from Da Nang and Hoi An.
We continued our excursions with our group of 10 in Nha Trang Vietnam. Today we visited two areas from the Chan May port in central Vietnam: Da Nang and Hoi An. It took about an hour to drive to Da Nang where our first stop at the Dragon Bridge for a photo stop of the bridge and city view from across the river.

Our next stop in Da Nang was a marble and stone carving center with, wait for it, a shop. We bought a really cool vase and small clock shaped like a phone.

We moved on to the Han river for a bamboo basket boat ride.

There was a guy throwing a cast net and another spinning his boat like a top for tips.

Here are our travel companions in their boats.

Next, we were off the the ancient town of Hoi An which was really pretty. We saw a few sites along the way and had a nice lunch.

We crossed a old Japanese bridge.

Then visited a Chinese Temple.

And toured an 200 year old traditional home.

After a very good lunch, we walked through town some more on the way back to the van. You can buy almost anything from junk to custom tailored clothes in Hoi An and everything in between, like a beer can bandolier.

We then had a 2 hour drive back to the ship at Chan May. Tomorrow is a sea day before arriving in Hong Kong.
